When trying to book appointments recently for potential buyers these are just a few of the obstacles we ran in to; agents did not return calls, another had to ask a management company for permission but were not allowed to call on a weekend, another had to ask a management company and did not call us back - the final call involved us being told we had to call a management company directly with the number given by the agent, which was their job as the listing agent.

You will find to get your listing some Real Estate agents may offer discounted rates to get you to choose them, this is not to your advantage if you really want to sell your house as you will probably just end up wasting the period of the listing agreement you sign. We have found from experience if the commission offered in a co-broke is not attractive enough other real estate agents will not bring their clients to your home thus reducing the chance of you selling your home. Pilgrim's selling fees allow the co-broke to be attractive enough for other agents to show an interest and bring their buyers.
Sellers also need to be wary of misinformation from Non USA based agents & website owners who will tell you that USA based realtors do not advertise overseas, which in many cases is true but also bear in mind that most non USA based agents do not have the ability or funds to advertise in the USA etc. Please also be wary of individuals claiming to be licensed Realtors, many non US residents take the test and get the licence but if they are not a member of a Board of Realtors they are not allowed to call themselves a Realtor under the code of ethics.
